Antennas & Radiation Course (Old)

Advanced 40 hours training program for Experienced RF engineers and project managers in wireless radio and satellite communication fields, radar systems, electronic warfare (EW) and telemetric fields who have specified & integrated antennas into systems.

This class is aimed at experienced RF engineers who wish to expand their knowledge  in the field of antennas design (one of the more advanced and complicated fields in the RF engineering discipline). This class offers a comprehensive overview of the antenna domain with focus on different communication applications, as well as Radar and electronic warfare (EW) applications. The class will provide a practical overview of key conceptual ideas, critical parameters for performance and selection and implementation criteria with respect to RF system considerations. The syllabus includes 40 hours of frontal class based on C.A. Balanis, Antenna Theory – Analysis and Design, Wiley Interscience, 3rd edition, 2005 Which is considered the most updated antenna engineering book available in the field of antennas and radiation. The book is complementary for class participants.

Target Audience 

This class targets RF system engineers and project managers in wireless radio and satellite communication fields, radar systems, electronic warfare (EW) and the telemetric field who specify and integrate antennas in systems. RF engineers wishing to diversify their technical knowledge and junior engineers that have successfully completed our radio engineering class will also benefit from this class

Training objectives

This class will introduce students to in-depth theory fundamentals in the field of antennas and propagation. An overview of the different antenna types and their characteristics and tradeoffs with respect to the application will be a major contribution to our students participating in the class. We expect engineers completing this class to be able to define select and integrate the optimal antenna solution for their specific system.
