Satellite manufacturers encounter numerous challenges in the design of space
electronics sub-systems including cost and schedule monitoring, over-engineering,
delivery delays, the pressure to beright-first-timeand overspending.

 

The course includes:
1. The differences between all space-grade FPGAs and how to select the most
suitable device for your next project.
2. The differences between all space-grade ADCs/DACs and how to select the most
suitable device for your next project.
3. The differences between all space-grade isolated DC-DCs , linear and switching
POLs and how to select the most suitable part for your next project.
4. How to use and select low-cost COTS parts for space applications and which
COTS FPGAs, ADCs/DACs and power devices can you reliably use.
5. How to power a 1V 50A FPGA?
6. Thermal management and post-layout verification

Target Audience

This course is suitable for satellite/spacecraft design engineers, system
integrators, system engineers, project/program managers, procurement staff, QA
work in space agencies, component suppliers, distributors and FAEs.

Presenter


The lecturer for this three-day course is Dr. Rajan Bedi, CEO of Spacechips Ltd.
Prior to Spacechips, Dr. Bedi was head of the Mixed-Signal Space Electronics
at Airbus Defence & Space for twelve years where he successfully led numerous
projects developing space-grade electronics. He is also the author of “Out-of-this-
World-Design”, the award-winning blog on Space Electronics.
